Deene Park – One day Events audit and Advisory support
ASSIGNMENT
Over a three year period GFG established a rapport with the Resident Estate Manager at Deene Park which led to us being commissioned to undertake a ‘One day’ heritage events audit review of their private and public events business.
Located just outside Corby in Northamptonshire this 10,000 acre estate has been the home of the Brudenell family since 1514. With 400 acres of picturesque Parkland they’ve held regular Classic Car shows as well as an annual musical Concert, which regularly attracts up to three to four thousand music goers. In addition to opening the House to the public, the Estate recently purchased a 160 seater capacity Marquee structure for the Wedding market located in one of their landscaped Walled Gardens.
Following our report submission to the Brudenell family and Trustees, we were then commissioned to undertake a broader restructure of the teams’ skill sets, which also included amongst others a re-branding of their events business and long term business plan.
OUTPUT
As a result our submission, our Consultants are now retained to implement the report recommendations which in time will broaden their share/exposure of the events market place within Northamptonshire.
These tasks included: –
Selection and recruitment of an Event Sales Manager to lead the team and drive the business forward with both public and private events
Reviewing the preferred supplier list in particular the Caterers, which required their involvement in a ‘tender review’, leading to a more commercial structured partnership with the Estate.
Reviewing Deene Park’s on-line Wedding platforms presence to ensure the Events team received quality vetted enquiries, based on budgeted parameters, etc.,
Co-ordinated and re-designed the Website, in particular the content and imagery for the Wedding market for Deene Park. This also included organising a ‘styled shoot’ with suppliers to support future social media activity.

Created and devised a ‘Wedding competition’ initiative involving Deene Park’s preferred suppliers, entitling a couple to win a ‘free wedding’ for a 100 guests, estimated to be worth in excess of £15,000.
Implemented a structured and measurable Sales & Marketing plan with staff KPI’s, allowing the Estates Manager to monitor progress.
