About GFG Consultants

As a business Consultancy, Generation for Growth was established to support CEO’s, COO’s, CFO’s and Commercial Directors to yield and maximise revenue from a ‘venues’ event space. More importantly, we advise our clients’ Sales & Operational teams are structured, efficient, measured and accountable to deliver annual budgets.

Simon Cope
Director

Meet Simon

As principal Director, Simon Cope is an experienced Sales and Marketing strategic Consultant. Simon has established a reputation as a specialist in supporting businesses with long term growth from the events market place, whether that’s public, corporates or private events.

Simon started his career in the 80’ when he created a successful London ‘outside Catering business servicing the needs of both the Corporate, Hospitality and the Embassy sector. Employing in excess of 15 staff, Simon and his team delivered Catering events throughout the UK with an annual turnover in excess of £1m per annum. In the late ’90s, he then transferred his entrepreneurial skills to become Director for a number of leading UK MICE agencies (Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions).

Now working under the GFG consultancy brand he’s delivered just over 40 assignments since 2007 ranging from Sports Stadiums, Heritage homes to many of London’s leading conference and banqueting venues.

Since 2007 we’ve engaged additional Consultants to provide complimentary ‘skill sets’ to supports our Client assignments. GFG has four experienced Consultants from very diverse backgrounds who all have exceptional knowledge of the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry.

Eddie is an experienced Company Director with over 30 years working knowledge of the Live Events Market. Establishing Events Management Consultancy in 2007 he is currently chairing Hedsor House as non-executive Chairman and retained by Holkham Hall, Kirtlington Park and Castle Ashby. Eddie is an experienced strategic consultant with a proven track record in producing and delivering business plans for historic houses and venues.

Charles is a qualified project manager, a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and holds an MBA from Bayes Business School. A membership and commercial expert having worked with membership organisations for over 18 years helping to create compelling membership propositions and to use digital technology to improve business operations and deliver outstanding services. He has worked at director level with organisations ranging from the National Association of Head Teachers to the Royal Society for Arts (RSA), England Athletics and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Krish has extensive visitor attraction and event venue attraction experience. During thirteen years of leisure consultancy with KPMG and Ernst & Young, he advised all sectors of the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries. His particular strengths are strategic and operational development advice, business planning, financial and funding appraisals. 10 years ago he established The Leisure & Tourism Organisation and was responsible for the “London’s Tourism Strategy to 2025” and currently Director of Development for HBO’s permanent “Game of Thrones” visitor attractions being developed in Belfast.

Edward has over 30 years of proven knowledge of food and drink production, retail and foodservice. Experience includes, M. D of the Ludlow Food Centre, a £5m turnover enterprise Farm shop in Shropshire. Business awards include Shop of the Year (Great Taste Awards), UK Food Hall (Farm Shop and Deli Awards) and UK Farm Retailer of the Year.
Edward’s earlier achievements include the successful launch of new wine brands and manufacturing of award-winning ice creams. He has become a specialist from small town and city centre delicatessens to large farm retail, foodservice and food production.

Simon has worked in the catering & hospitality industry for over 30 years, during which time he has held directorships with some of the industry’s leading contract caterers. As well as advising and currently supporting the Litmus Partnership (a leading Catering Consultancy Simon formed Blue and Green Consultancy, an independent catering consultancy providing tender management and specialist advice. In addition, Simon is Founder & Chairman of the Catering & Hospitality Committee for the BIFM and past Vice Chairman of the IOH and has worked with a diverse range of clients - hotels, heritage venues, law firms and City banks.

Focussing predominantly on London’s leading Conference and Banqueting venues, we’ve undertaken a broad range of short term business performance assignments to more complex strategic business planning reviews. Traditionally we’re normally commissioned when companies are looking for increased revenue growth from the ‘events’ market place.

Supporting a diverse range of both small and large Heritage family estates including Stately Homes, we work closely with Rural Agents who advise Estates on long term succession, diversification and Estate planning. Alternatively, we advise owners and Trustees directly on how they should take a more aggressive approach to engage with both the private and corporate events sector.

Working with some of the UK’s leading ‘Live Event, AV and Production’ agencies, we have successfully devised lead generation telemarketing campaigns targeting the B2B market. Using creative and carefully worded scripts with strong and distinctive benefit statements, we target decision makers and budget holders who commission agencies to deliver Events, Incentive trips, Product launches and Exhibition work.
